THEMATIC WORKSHOP “STEAM&ENVIRONMENT” – “STEAM Fields and Environmental Challenges” held at the State University of Moldova

On September 21, 2023, at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, the State University of Moldova held its thematic Workshop on the STEAM fields and the ENVIRONMENT challenges faced by the local economy. The workshop took place in the “Virgil Madgearu Romanian Entrepreneurial Culture Center”, recently inaugurated at USM.

The purpose of the Workshop was to identify STEAM skills that can contribute to the solution of ecological problems determined by the local business environment in the context of the sustainable, collaborative and innovative development of the national economy.

The following participated in the works of the “STEAM&ENVIRONMENT” Workshop:

– 7 practitioners from the real economy: representatives of companies from different fields of activity, non-governmental organizations and state institutions;

– 10 teaching staff from the Business Administration department;

– 31 students from the Business and Administration study program.

Among the speakers of the Workshop we can mention – Vitalie TOMA, manager, “Moldcontrol” Association, Veaceslav SPRINCEAN, PhD, associate professor, head of the Drone Education Office within the Faculty of Physics and Engineering, as well as entrepreneurs, teaching staff of the “Business Administration” department, USM – Alexandru SCUTARU and Galina LISA.

The works of the Workshop gave us the opportunity to interact proactively in an interdisciplinary environment and to achieve a knowledge transfer with colleagues, experts and practitioners in the real field of economics. Following the discussions and debates of ideas within the Workshop, it was confirmed that STEAM skills are significant for future specialists in the field of business administration, to be able to face the multiple challenges within the competitive business environment; which is oriented towards a sustainable, collaborative and innovative development.
