Follow-up Workshop on Improving the Business & Administration Curriculum and Developing STEAM Skills

On September 20, 2025, Alecu Russo State University of Bălți hosted a follow-up workshop organized within the Erasmus+ skills4future project, dedicated to the development of STEAM skills and the improvement of the undergraduate curriculum in Business & Administration. The event took place at Nortek, STEAMLab, bringing together university professors, students, and representatives of the local business community.

The opening session featured remarks from Dr. habil. Nelli Amarfii-Railean, institutional coordinator of the project, and Dr. Victoria Postolache, associate professor, who emphasized the importance of strengthening the connection between higher education and the labor market. During the discussions, local entrepreneurs such as Gustcondim Exim SRL, SILOVMOB SRL, JLC SA / Incomlac SA, and Lauratur SRL shared their perspectives on the skills needed by young professionals and how the university curriculum could better address the needs of the economic environment.

The debates highlighted several directions for improvement, including deeper integration of STEAM competences into sustainability-related topics, diversification of research themes for practical learning, and stronger involvement of the business sector in student training. Professors stressed the importance of interactive methods and continuous evaluation, while students called for more practical resources and applied learning opportunities.

The workshop concluded with the formulation of joint recommendations, emphasizing the periodic updating of curricula and the strengthening of collaboration between universities, students, and the private sector. The event once again demonstrated that the success of higher education relies on constant dialogue between academia and business, ensuring a modern and relevant education for today’s society.
