On March 13–14, 2025, Alecu Russo State University of Bălți organized the STEAM Discovery Week event within the Skills4future project. The event aimed to promote sustainable business models 4.0 and strengthen the connection between education and the economic sector by fostering the development of STEAM competencies among students and academic staff.
📌Main activities included:
✔️ Thematic sessions led by professors and international experts, focused on topics such as circular economy, risk management, sustainable development, and business innovation.
✔️ Student business plan presentations, followed by feedback and recommendations from specialists. The proposed ideas were centered on sustainable solutions with economic, social, and environmental impact.
✔️ A study visit to the company SA Barza Albă, where participants explored practical examples of sustainability in the production of wines and brandies, such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, and responsible resource use.
The event highlighted the importance of strengthening STEAM competencies (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) in higher education as a foundation for training professionals capable of responding to the current and future challenges of the green and digital economy.
