THE THEMATIC WORKSHOP “STEAM&SOCIAL” – CROWNS THE TRIAD OF WORKSHOPS ON THE FIELDS OF STEAM WITHIN THE SKILLS4FUTURE PROJECT

On September 28, 2023 at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, the State University of Moldova held its third thematic Workshop on STEAM fields and SOCIAL challenges faced by the local economy. The workshop was held in the “Centre of Romanian Entrepreneurial Culture “Virgil Madgearu””.

The event was attended by teaching staff, students and representatives of the business environment – USM stakeholders. During the “STEAM&SOCIAL” Workshop, a variety of topics of a social nature, relevant for the community / local businesses, were addressed, among which – training and development of employee skills, decent jobs and improved living standards, sustainable investments in skilled labor and innovation, workplace safety and equal opportunities, etc.

The following participated in the works of the STEAM&SOCIAL Workshop:

– 12 practitioners from the real economy: representatives of companies from different fields of activity, non-governmental organizations and state institutions;

– 9 teaching staff from the Business Administration department;

– 40 students from the Business and Administration study program

The works of the Workshop were opened, with a word of greeting, by Maria HĂMURARU, dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences; Boris COREȚCHI, head of the “Business Administration” department, USM and Marian JALENCU, institutional coordinator of the Skills4Future project.

Among the speakers of the Workshop, practitioners participated, both from the business environment and from public and non-governmental organizations – Tatiana BULIMAGA (online), head of department “International Cooperation”, USM; Carina ȚURCANU, recruitment specialist, “DAD Human Capital” Company; Irina BÎSTRIȚCHI, ITC international consultant, United Nations Organization (UN); Veaceslav STOICA, youth specialist, NGO “Centrul Tineret”, Botanica; Elena IEPURE, consultant, “Orange-Interacces-M”; Emilia SAULEAC, quality assurance specialist, “Spark Solutions” SRL; Nicoleta ȚURCAN, assistant manager, “Nico Genius” SRL; Adrian RAȚĂ, SMM-Social Media Marketing, “Proxidei” SRL; Denis COJOCARI, operative group, “Bercut” SRL.

At the end of the discussions, research topics were identified and formulated, in the STEAM fields, to be proposed to the students of the “Business and Administration” specialty, as well as ways to improve the syllabuses for the courses perfected within the Skills4Future project.
