Alecu Russo Balti State University hosted the remarkable event, Digital and Green Week, as part of the ERASMUS CBHE project: Skills4Future. This week represented a unique opportunity to highlight the importance of STEAM skills for curricular innovation and sustainable development of higher education institutions and local businesses.

The event took place on April 20, 2024, at the STEAMLab, located within the Nortek complex. Participants included a diverse array of professors, students, and business representatives, all eager to explore the intersection of technology and sustainability.

Andrei Cernea, manager at SRL DAW Company, distributor of CAPAROL products, was one of the distinguished presenters at the event. He shed light on the processes involved in the production of construction materials, paints, and finishes, emphasizing their impact on the environment and consumer health. Additionally, he highlighted the company’s commitment to ISO Quality Standards and its management of waste and packaging recycling in the production process.

Students and professors had the opportunity to explore other business models, analyzing strategies through which companies ensure sustainability, minimize negative environmental impact, and promote eco-friendly products. This broad perspective sparked lively debates and stimulated critical thinking among participants.

The event marked an important step in promoting dialogue between the academic community, the private sector, and the local community, strengthening the bonds between these entities and highlighting the essential contribution of higher education to building a sustainable future.
