On May 11 and 12, 2023, at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, at Moldova State University held its first thematic Workshop on STEAM fields and the ECONOMIC challenges faced by the local economy. The workshop was held in the “Gheorghe Bratianu Information Center of Romania”.
The purpose of the Workshop was to identify STEAM skills that can contribute to solving the economic problems determined by the local business environment in the context of the sustainable, collaborative and innovative development of the national economy. The event was attended by 20 teaching staff, 17 students and 13 representatives of the business environment – USM stakeholders. They had the opportunity to discuss and analyze the economic challenges generated by the domestic business environment.
The works of the Workshop gave us the opportunity to interact pro-actively in an interdisciplinary environment and to achieve a knowledge transfer with colleagues, experts and practitioners in the real field of economics. Following the discussions and debates of ideas within the Workshop, it was confirmed that STEAM skills are significant for future specialists in the field of business administration, to be able to face the multiple challenges within the competitive business environment; which is oriented towards a sustainable, collaborative and innovative development. In this context, the STEAM skills instilled in students, based on the integration of knowledge and skills in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics, will certainly prepare them to face these challenges in the labor market.
