The Faculty of Economic Engineering and Business of the Technical University of Moldova organized the 3rd edition of the National Business Plan Competition under the theme “Competitiveness and Innovations in Business Development for Youth,” which took place on March 21, 2025. For the past two years, this event has been organized in partnership with the Erasmus+ Skills4Future Project – “Developing and improving the STEAM skills of students and teachers for curriculum innovation and sustainable development of higher education institutions and local businesses.”
Competition Objectives:
- Developing the practical and applied skills of students/master’s students in business plan development and business launch;
- Promoting talent and encouraging the formation of relationships and partnerships between higher and vocational education institutions;
- Gaining experience in business initiation and promoting an entrepreneurial culture.
The competition featured 21 innovative STEAM Business Plans developed by students specializing in “Business and Administration” from five universities:
- Technical University of Moldova,
- Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova,
- State University of Moldova,
- “Alecu Russo” State University of Bălți,
- “Bogdan Petriceicu Hașdeu” State University of Cahul.
The participants presented ingenious, well-argued ideas covering various fields of entrepreneurship, highly appreciated by the jury members. The evaluation of students’ business plans was based on six criteria:
- Business viability and sustainability
- Methodology for idea development and implementation
- Market analysis and marketing plan
- Budget and financial plan
- Investment impact of the business project
- Business management
Business Plan Evaluation Committee:
The evaluation committee consisted of experts in entrepreneurship, to whom we express our gratitude:

Competition Results:
The jury faced a challenging task in selecting the best business plans. Ultimately, the following results were established:
- 1st place and a prize of 3,000 MDL was awarded to the business idea “ReciclaVie”
- Student team: COJOCARU Valentina, MAEVSCHI Anastasia, POSTOLACHE Alexandrina – ASEM
- 2nd place and a prize of 2,000 MDL for the business idea “Mobile Ad Blocker”
- Student team: GEORGEANA Globa, CAMINSCHI Leonid, OTGON Dorin, GUZUN Grigore – 4th year in Software Engineering, FCIM, UTM
- 3rd place and a prize of 1,000 MDL was awarded to “Recycling of grapevine waste by producing briquettes in the company card of SRL ‘Vinăria din Vale'”
- Student team: GANCEA Livia, RAȘCENCO Mihaela, MALAI Vlad – USCH
Additionally, the organizing committee awarded prizes of 1,000 MDL each for specific categories:
- Most original business plan – “Green Trail”
- Student team: BRICEAC Ecaterina, CAZACU Dumitrița, CEBOTARI Diana, COTELEA Dumitrița – FIEB, UTM
- Most innovative and digitalized business idea – “Information System for Monitoring the Condition of Agricultural Lands”
- Student team: CARBUNI Evghenii, EIVAZOV Iscander – USM
- Most complex business idea integrated into the value chain of products – “Uniting”
- Student team: MOȘNEGUȚA Cristina, MELNIC Daria – USM
- Easiest business idea to implement – “Second Life for Furniture”
- Student team: PODOLEANU Zlata, UȘACOV Olesea, RÎJALO Gabriel – ASEM
- Most environmentally friendly business idea (renewable resources, ecological/organic, green energy, circular economy) – “Recycling of textile articles”
- Student team: CHILARU Emilia, HARABARA Nadejda, OBRINTEȚCHI Anastasia – USARD
The organization of this significant event for FIEB and UTM was made possible thanks to private enterprise sponsors. The event’s visibility was ensured by media sponsors, including TRM television and Agrobiznes portal.
The National Business Plan Competition, hosted by the Faculty of Economic Engineering and Business, UTM, was a successful event due to the participation of various educational institutions across the country, the engagement of key stakeholders in this field, and the creation of a platform for students and faculty to communicate, exchange ideas, and identify new collaboration opportunities for entrepreneurship development within educational institutions.
In this context, the Faculty of Economic Engineering and Business, UTM, aims to organize the National Business Plan Competition annually to support and promote the entrepreneurial spirit among young people.
