From October 7-11, 2024, Alecu Russo Balti State University (USARB) participated in the second training session aimed at modernizing the university curriculum through STEAM skills. Organized in collaboration with European partners, including the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest and the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest, Romania, this session brought together all project partners to further drive curriculum innovation.
Over the five days, USARB teaching and administrative staff engaged in intensive training, gaining valuable insights into methods and techniques that foster the development of STEAM competencies. Special emphasis was placed on equipping students in economic fields with these skills, ensuring their professional training incorporates sustainability and social responsibility.
The training covered a wide range of topics, including:
– Education for Sustainability – Prof. Dr. Ing. Elena Fleacă, University Politehnica of Bucharest
– Responsible Practices and Sustainable Businesses, complemented by visits to Hewlett Packard Enterprise and the Bucharest Stock Exchange
– Socio-Technological Controversies in Teaching Activities – Prof. Jérôme Guenez, IMT Nord Europe, France
– Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Growth, with visits to Genpact and the Ateneul Company
– Preventing Catastrophic Scenarios through Decision-Making Techniques – Prof. Dr. Grigore Pîrșcă, Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest
– Financial Education in Rational Consumption and Investment Decisions – PhD Bianca Motorga, Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest
The session concluded with a focus on the crucial role of sustainability in education and the need for continued curriculum innovation to build a sustainable future.
