Outreach session within the ERASMUS+ Skills4future International Project

On June 27, 2024, the Agri-food economics and rural development department of NIER, AESM, organized the Outreach session regarding the implementation of the ERASMUS+ international project / ”Developing and improving the STEAM skills of students and teachers for curriculum innovation and sustainable development of higher education institutions and local businesses”- Skills4future.

The session was opened by Ms. Dr. Angela Timus, Scientific Secretary of NIER, who mentioned the importance of the project both for the direct beneficiaries – the students, and for the domestic business environment, through the lens of increasing the quality of studies and the training of competitive Business and Administration specialists on the labor market. The work continued with the presentation of the project, focusing on its purpose, objectives, general information, the role of NIER, activities carried out by the NIER project team, as well as other activities related to its implementation.

The second part of the event focused on discussions regarding the current need to improve the existing license programs in the field of Business and Administration, which will also benefit the Central Public Bodies. The representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry present at the event noted that the activity of the business environment in the future depends on the new generation of students and their knowledge, which will have a direct effect on the national economy in general, and the development of the agricultural sector, in particular. In this sense, the policies developed by the central public bodies will have to respond to the current needs and will largely depend on the development of the business environment. At the same time, a better cooperation between universities and business is necessary, in order to identify the solutions proposed by the business environment in order to improve the license programs in the field of Business and Administration. This cooperation can be achieved in various forms, but it is imperative in order to achieve concrete and positive results.
