During September 26-27, 2024, the 2nd Multiplier Conference entitled “STEAM skills for ENVIRONMENTAL growth” was hosted by the State University Bogdan Petriceicu Hașdeu of Cahul. The event provided a platform for exchanging best practices in STEAM education, focusing on environmental issues tailored to local needs.
Representatives from the Environmental Protection Inspection, a regulatory body under the Ministry of Environment, participated as invited speakers at the event. They shared their expertise on current environmental challenges, discussing pressing ecological issues facing modern society and potential solutions based on their professional experience.
The working visit of the project consortium included an in-depth exploration of vineyard operations and winemaking processes at two prominent local producers – Vinia Traian S.A. and KaraGani. Participants examined sustainable grape cultivation methods, modern production technologies, and quality control measures at these internationally recognised wineries that preserve the region’s viticultural heritage. Key focus areas of the visit covered vineyard management techniques, technological advancements in wine production, implementation of sustainable practices, and strategies for maintaining traditional winemaking excellence while meeting global market standards.
The multiplier event was attended by:
- 12 Professors from the Department of Economic Sciences, the State University Bogdan Petriceicu Hașdeu of Cahul and from the project consortium.
- 21 bachelor’s degree students from different specialisations such as “Business and Administration”, “Accounting”, and “Engineering and Management in the Food Industry”, USCH.
- 3 experts from Environmental Protection Inspection, Ministry of the Environment, Prosecutor’s Office of the Cahul district, General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Moldova.
